Plenty has changed for the longest-running high school and grassroots basketball website on the Internet in the past four years, just as it has for many companies and people. The onset of the COVID-19 virus in early 2020 brought change to the HOOP SCOOP. Longtime editor and publisher Clark Francis decided the down time COVID-19 created was a good time to step away from the day-to-day responsibilities of managing hoopscooponline.com. Francis decided to step away from his editorial and publishing duties and hand the reigns over to long-time correspondent Ronnie Flores.
Flores, the long-time California editor of the HOOP SCOOP and West Coast correspondent, took reigns of the website and continued The HOOP SCOOP’s business initiatives. Flores continued to publish content on the website thereafter, including the annual Top 100 National Player Rankings and unique event player rankings from high school and grassroots events all over the country.
