Here is a state-by-state list of the highest end-of-season rankings for boys’ basketball teams since a version of the Grassroots Hoops FAB 50 poll began for the 1987-88 season. 2017-18 FAB 50 national title contender Memphis East earned the highest ranking ever for a Tennessee club during the 2016-17 season and finished one spot lower at No. 4 in 2017-18. The 2018-19 McEachern of Powder Springs is now the highest-rated team ever from Georgia.

Final, Expanded 2014-15 FAB 50 Rankings
All 50 ranked teams written up with explanations for why they were placed in these positions with comparisons to preseason ranking. The Grassroots Hoops FAB 50 is the official rankings of the National Sports News Service, which date back to the 1952 season. Montverde Academy of Florida is the 2014-15 mythical national champion, the first team to earn three consecutive No. 1 final rankings since the advent of weekly national polls in 1975-76.

Remembering McClymonds: Winners of 3 Straight Titles
Montverde Academy of Florida won its third straight mythical national title by virtue of finishing No. 1 in the final 2014-15 Grassroots Hoops FAB 50 national rankings. We take a look back at the first team to finish ranked No. 1 for three straight seasons — McClymonds (Oakland, Calif.), which turned the trick between 1958-1960.

FINAL FAB 50 National Rankings
Montverde Academy of Florida captures third consecutive FAB 50 title by virtue of winning 31 of 32 games on the court against its tough schedule. By closing out its season by winning the Dick’s Nationals tournament in New York, there is little debate the Eagles are the nation’s top team as compared to last season when they edged Mater Dei of California. Montverde Academy, which does not compete for a state title, becomes the first program in the weekly poll era to capture three consecutive mythical national titles.
