Chino Hills of California is the 2015-16 mythical national champion, the first from California since 1999-00 (Dominguez of Compton) and the first unbeaten California national champ since 1979-80 (Inglewood).

Here is a state-by-state list of the highest end-of-season rankings for boys’ basketball teams since a version of the Grassroots Hoops FAB 50 poll began for the 1987-88 season. 2017-18 FAB 50 national title contender Memphis East earned the highest ranking ever for a Tennessee club during the 2016-17 season and finished one spot lower at No. 4 in 2017-18. The 2018-19 McEachern of Powder Springs is now the highest-rated team ever from Georgia.
