ANJAY CORTEZ MAKES NAME FOR HIMSELF IN HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION & ANTHONY DANCLER, SOLOMON MARSHALL, & MICAH WORSLEY STEAL THE SHOW IN THE 9TH GRADE DIVISION AT THE 2019 PHENOM 150 CAMP

I have good news and bad news for all of the people who were oohing and aahing over 6'8 Anjay Cortez from Charlotte NC, who clearly was the best player this past weekend at the Phenom 150 Camp in San Diego, CA.  The good news is that Cortez appears has a great combination of size, skills, length, and athleticism and, with his vast array of acrobatic moves and spectacular finishes at the rim, he brought the house down on numerous occasions in both the regular camp games and the All-Star Game for the High School Division.

Kaiden Bailey, Derrick Norfleet , Ryder Burgess , & Other Quality Young Players Steal the Show at this Year’s Jr Phenom Camp

Normally the best age group at the Jr Phenom Camp is the 8th Grade Division.  However, the big story at this year's camp, which was held Friday, July 26th, Saturday, July 27th, and Sunday, July 28th, at Alliant University in San Diego, CA, was the quality of talent in the younger age groups.

Our rankings reflect what we saw at camp and are based primarily on performance at camp.  Many players played multiple positions and, as a result, we attempted to place as many players as possible at the position where they will be ranked the highest in camp.

YGC36-MARCUS SMART HITS THE DAILY DOUBLE IN THE 16 & 17-UNDER DIVISIONS AT THE ADIDAS GOLD GAUNTLET FINALE & NATHAN BITTLE WAS IN A CLASS BY HIMSELF AT WEST COAST ELITE TOP 100 CAMP

It looks like there is a new sheriff on the adidas circuit, as is event by the fact that teams from the YGC36-Marcus Smart club team program took home the Championship in both the 16-Under and the 17-under Divisions in the adidas Gold Gautlet Finale, which was held last week at the Ladera Sports Center in Ladera Ranch, CA.

MOKAN ELITE WINS NIKE EYBL FINALS AT THE PEACH JAM, BUT JALEN GREEN EDGES OUT N’FALY DANTE & CADE CUNNINGHAM FOR #1 RANKING

It doesn't get much better than the Championship Game at this year's NIKE EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam, which was held this past week at the Riverview Park Activities Center in North Augusta, SC and was finally decided when the shot from point blank range by 6'6 Jalen Green from Napa (Prolific Prep) CA with less than a second remaining bounced off the top of the rim and Mokan Elite survived in an 85-84 overtime thriller.

MEMPHIS ENDS UP WITH THE #1-RANKED RECRUITING CLASS AND ISAIAH STEWART IS THE #1-RANKED PLAYER IN OUR FINAL RANKINGS FOR THE CLASS OF 2019

The final returns are in and it is pretty obvious that the University of Memphis has the best recruiting class, as the Tigers are nine points ahead of USC, which edges out Duke, Gonzaga, Kentucky, and Georgia, all of which are within two points of one another, for #2 in our Final Ranking of the Top Recruiting Classes for the Class of 2019

MarJon Beauchamp Steals All of the Thunder on the First Official Day of Action at the 2019 NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp

What a difference a day made at this year's NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp, which is being held this week at the University of Virginia's John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA.  The first day (Wednesday) was just a practice day and did not feature the plethora of NCAA Division I college coaches who were in attendance on the second day (yesterday).

David Ibandzo is the Name to Remember from the 2019 John Lucas International Middle School Combine

The 2019 John Lucas International Middle School Combine, which was held this past weekend at the Drive Nation Sports Facility in Irving, TX, featured an abundance of size (by our count there were 27 players in attendance who are 6'4 or bigger).  And right at the top of the list is 6'10 8th Grader David Ibandzo from Covington, OK, who simply picked up where he left off when we saw him two months ago at the John Lucas All-Star Weekend.

The race really was almost too close to call when it came time for us to determine who the best player was at the John Lucas Future of the Game, which featured a plethora 5th and 6th Graders and was held over the weekend at the Tarkanian Center in Las Vegas, NV.
