The early signing period for high school seniors began Wednesday. Here is a numerical look back at the first 48 hectic hours of this weeklong period for boys’ hoops.

0 — Number of phone calls answered by Stanley Johnson of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), the No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2014 Hoop Scoop Top 100, from reporters looking to do a story on the first day of the early signing period.
4 — Number of recruits who signed with the University of Kentucky, the No. 1-ranked 2014 class by the Hoop Scoop: No. 10 Tyler Ulis, Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, Ind.) 5-9 G; No. 17 Karl Towns, St. Joseph (Metuchen, N.J.) 6-11 C; No. 22 Trey Lyles, Tech (Indianapolis, Ind.) 6-10 F; Devin Booker, Point Moss (Point Moss, Miss.). If Arizona inks Stanley Johnson on Friday, its class will move up to No. 2, according to Hoop Scoop’s Clark Francis. Duke can move up to No. 1 if it inks No. 4 Tyus Jones, Apple Valley (Apple Valley, Minn.) and No. 6 Jahlil Okafor, Whitney Young (Chicago), and later adds No. 12 Justise Winslow, St. John’s (Houston). The Blue Devils would need to add Winslow in order to supplant Kentucky as the top recruiting class in the country.
6 — Number of uncommitted prospects in the top 10 of the 2014 Hoop Scoop Top 100. The number is seven of the top 12, if you include Justise Winslow. The top 10 will drop to only two after Friday: No. 7 Myles Turner, Trinity (Euless, Texas) and No. 9 Rashad Vaughn, Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.).
7 — Number of early signees from Montverde Academy (Montverde Academy, Va.), the most from a single high school level program: SG D’Angelo Russell to Ohio State; G Jalyn Patterson to LSU; PG Ahmaad Rorie to Cal; F Justin Bibbs to Virginia Tech; F Jordan Caroline to Southern Illinois; C Chris Egi to Harvard; C Makinde London to Xavier. The Eagles opened the season ranked No. 1 in the Student Sports FAB 50 National Rankings and open their 2013-14 season on November 22 against regionally ranked Tift County (Tifton, Ga.).
12 — Number of miles by car from the home of Daniel Hamilton to Pauley Pavilion, the home arena for UCLA. The No. 19 prospect in the Hoop Scoop Top 100, the St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) forward is committed to UConn, but reportedly has not signed a National Letter of Intent (LOI).

Hamilton’s older brother Isaac, a member of the Class of 2013, originally signed a letter of intent with UTEP and later attempted to void his national LOI, but his appeal was denied. He’s currently enrolled at UCLA, but won’t be able to play until the 2014-15 season.
2,933 — Number of miles by car from the home of Daniel Hamilton to Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, the home arena for UConn. The No. 19 prospect in the Hoop Scoop Top 100 has been committed to UConn since May, but reportedly has not signed a National Letter of Intent (LOI).
