The four Fullcourt Press All-Frosh/Soph Camps held around the country are an excellent springboard for young players to make a national name for themselves on the grassroots basketball scene.

For the 13th consecutive year, many of the West Coast’s top freshman and sophomores will showcase their skills at the Fullcourt Press All-Frosh/Soph Camp presented by Pangos.

Fullctpress.net Publisher Dinos Trigonis began the camp in the fall of 2001 and has grown it to include three additional camps in strategic regions of the country. At the first one held at Valencia High (Placentia, Calif.), future NBA guard Aaron Afflalo, then an incoming sophomore, was one of the standouts.

Over the years, many of the region’s top high school players have attended the camp, including Gabriel Pruitt, Jerryd Bayless, DeMar DeRozan, Brandon Jennings and current all-NBA players Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

Top players expected to attend this year’s camp at Cerritos College in Southern California include 2016 standouts Lonzo Ball (Chino Hills, Calif.), Vance Jackson (La Salle, Pasadena, Calif.), T.J. Leaf (Foothills Christian, El Cajon, Calif.) and Leland Green (Redondo Union, Redondo Beach, Calif.).

“It became so popular locally after the first couple of years, we decided to take the camp nationally,” Trigonis said. “That was in the fall of 2006 and we decided to do it in Atlanta. There was a positive reaction there and Derrick Favors (2009 Mr. Basketball USA) was the first MVP. We did one in the Midwest the following year.”

The camps provide players with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills to many top national and regional scouts that attend each of the four camps. The Pangos All-Frosh Camps also gives Trigonis the ability to make better player personnel decisions for his annual Pangos All-American Camp held each June.
