August 2, 2013 by Ronnie Flores Leave a Comment

adidas announced its rosters for 2013 adidas Nations to be held in Los Angeles August 2-5. Included are all three Student Sports Underclass Players of the Year from the 2012-2013 season.

LOS ANGELES — adidas today announced the roster for adidas Nations, the shoe company’s international grassroots basketball program.

Practices, pool play and college counselor games will be held August 2-4 at the Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove, Calif. The adidas Nations championships will be played at Long Beach City College on Monday, August 5 at  7 p.m. ET (ESPNU).

Many of the country’s top high school players will participate, including Jahlil Okafor (Whitney Young, Chicago), last year’s Student Sports National Junior of the Year. Also in attendance is last year’s Student Sports National Sophomore of the Year, Malik Newman (Callaway, Jackson, Miss.) and the Student Sports National Freshman of the Year, Eron Gordon (North Central, Indianapolis, Ind.).

Returning 2013 Student Sports All-American Stanley Johnson (Mater Dei, Santa Ana, Calif.) will also be in attendance. Johnson is having a standout summer and is battling for the title of “Nation’s Top Player This Summer.” A big performance at adidas Nations could seal it for him.

The world’s elite 18U players from nine international teams including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, USA 2014 and USA 2015/16 will train and compete in the prestigious annual program.
