Flyin’ To The Hoop Invitational Schedule
Seven Student Sports FAB 50 ranked teams are set to participate in the 12th annual Flyin’ to the Hoop Invitational in the Dayton, Ohio area. The event will take place on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend (January 17-20) and will feature two matchups of preseason ranked FAB 50 teams.

2013 Tarkanian Classic Results
After a successful inaugural event last December, the Tarkanian Classic is arguably the premier pre-Christmas tournament of 2013. Seven teams ranked in the preseason Student Sports FAB 50 will make an appearance, highlighted by No. 6 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), the defending Platinum Division champion, and No. 2 Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) in the prep school division.

City of Palms Results
Today the game schedule for the 41st annual Culligan City of Palms Classic presented by Cadillac was released. This event has traditionally been key to positioning within the Student Sports FAB 50 rankings heading into the new year. Last year’s championship was won by Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.), the eventual Student Sports FAB 50 national champion.

Super Showcase Set For October 26
California’s Central Valley has long been overlooked by basketball recruiters and scouts, but that is changing. The West Coast Super Showcase was created to help the region’s top basketball players gain exposure to West Coast scouts and media.
In the fall of 2012, the first annual West Coast Super Showcase presented by CaliforniaPreps.com in Fresno, Calif., was a smashing success. The event exposed StudentSportsBasketball.com to some of the region’s better underclass players such as point guard Murshid Randle (Central, Fresno), powerful forward Calvin Young (Bullard, Fresno) and point guard Colin Slater (Immanuel, Reedley, Calif.).
The trio and many others used the showcase as a springboard to a successful 2012-2013 high school season. Slater made the 10-man CalHiSports.com All-State Freshmen team at Clovis North and is considered one of the West’s top point guards in the 2016 class.
