Our West Coast Editor Dinos Trigonis tells us that the 2002 Fullcourt Press All West Coast Camp, which will be held July 12th-14th at the Warrior Center in Cypress, CA, promises to be one of the premier events in the nation right after the NIKE All-American and adidas ABCD Camps this summer.  This list of players that Trigonis, who also happens to be the camp director, expects to be in attendance includes 6'2 Soph DeMarcus Nelson from Vallejo (H.S.) CA, 6'3 Jr Marcus Williams from Los Angeles (Crenshaw) CA, 6'9 Jr Sean Phaler from Villa Park (H.S.) CA, 6'3 Jr Wesley Washington from Santa Ana (Mater Dei) CA, 6'0 Jr Rayshawn Reed from Inglewood (H.S.) CA, 6'9 Jr Harrison Schaen from Santa Ana (Mater Dei) CA, 6'8 Jr Ekene Ibekwe from Carson (H.S.) CA, 6'4 Jr Wendell White from Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) CA, 5'9 Jr Kevin Bell from Los Angeles (Fairfax) CA, 6'6 Frosh Jamaal Boykin from Los Angeles (Fairfax) CA, 5'9 Frosh Andre McGee from Moreno Valley (Canyon Springs) CA, 6'6 Jr Justin Hawkins from Lakewood (Mayfair) CA, 6'5 Jr Richard Cobbs from Canyon Springs (Mareno Valley) CA, 6'6 Jr Marcus Dove from Long Beach (Millikan) CA, 6'3 Soph Curtis Allen from Palos Verdes (Rolling Hills) CA, 6'3 Soph Gabriel Pruitt from Compton (Centennial) CA, 6'4 Soph Arron Aflalo from Compton (Centennial) CA, 6'2 Soph Ralph Miley from Downey (Calvary Chapel) CA, 6'5 Jr Trayvon Williams from Fontana (H.S.) CA, 6'5 Jr Kyle Hogan from Villa Park (H.S.) CA, 6'3 Jr Mark Bradford from Los Angeles (Fremont) CA, 6'11 Soph Robert Rothbart from Mountain View (St. Francis) CA, 6'11 Jr Jarrod Boswell from Granite Hills (El Capitan) CA, 6'4 Jr Fred Washington from Torrance (Bishop Montgomery) CA, 6'6 Jr Ruben Boykin from Los Angeles (University) CA, 5'11 Jr Eric Lane from Bellflower (St. John Bosco) CA, 6'0 Jr Brian McFadden from Lakewood (Mayfair) CA, 6'6 Jr Kerry Woolridge from San Leandro (H.S.) CA, 6'4 Jr Drew Terry from Ivrine (Northwood) CA, 6'2 Jr Derric Williams from Los Angeles (Price) CA, 6'2 Jr Ryan Reed from San Diego (Horizon) CA, 6'7 Jr Travone Free from Compton (Dominguez) CA, 6'3 Jr Kejuan Johnson from Lakewood (Artesia) CA, 6'7 Jr Mark Levine from Anaheim (Esperanza) CA, 6'2 Jr Avi Fogel from San Diego (Torrey Pines) CA, and 6'2 Jr Larry Cunningham from Downey (H.S.) CA.  And immediately following this event will be the 2002 Fullcourt Press Summer Shootout, which is set for July 15th-17th, also at the Warrior Center in Cypress, CA.   Among the teams that Trigonis has lined up are Belmont Shore, Los Angeles Rockfish, H-Squad, Sports Express, Inland, Compton Magic, Arizona Stars, Seattle Yes, Bay Area Ballers, 805 Express, and the San Diego Rising Stars.  Unfortunately I won't be able to attend either event.  Instead, my schedule for the month of July is as follows: NIKE All-American Camp in Indianapolis, IN on July 8th-9th; adidas ABCD Camp in Teaneck, NJ on July 10th-11th; Three Stripes Classic at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, July 12th-14th; NIKE Peach Jam in North Augusta, SC, July 15th-17th; Five-Star Pitt III it Coraopolis, PA, July 18th-20th; adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas, NV, July 22nd-27th; and AAU 17-Under/Junior Boys Basketball National Championship in Orlando, FL, July 28th-31st.  I also plan to remain in Orlando, FL and see the AAU 14-Under/8th Grade Boys Basketball National Championship, July 31st-August 6th.  I haven't decided exactly what I'm doing in June.  Some of the possibilities include the Five-Star Basketball Camp in Hampden-Sydney, VA on June 8th-13th; Rumble in the Bronx at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY on June 14th-16th; the NBA Players Association Camp at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA on June 17th-23rd; NIKE Hoop Jamboree in St. Louis, MO on June 19th-23rd; Atlanta Basketball Classic at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, June 20th-23rd; Charlie Weber Invitational at Penn State University in University Park, PA, June 21-23rd; Cage Scope/High Potential "Blue Chip" Basketball Camp at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY, June 23rd-27th; USA Basketball Developmental Camp at Colorado Springs, CO, June 26th-30th; and the AAU 16-Under/10th Grade Boys Basketball National Championship in Detroit, MI, June 26th-30th.  A list of the top events for the summer camp be found by clicking on Dates/Future Events.   If you know of any we are missing that need to be added to the list, feel free to call me at (502)-493-0043 or email us at clark@hoopscooponline.com.   I also am interested in getting whatever information that already is available for events that will take place during the fall and winter, like the Academy National Invitational in Houston, TX, December 27th-30th.  Speaking of the Academy National Invitational, tournament director Hal Pastner will have a tough act to follow after last year's event, as well as the Houston Kingwood Classic, which was absolutely incredible in April.  However, we know he's up to the task, as Seattle (Rainier Beach) WA, Mouth of Wilson (Oak Hill) VA, Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ, New York (Rice) NY, Winston-Salem (R.J. Reynolds) NC, Memphis (Booker T. Washington) TN, Los Angeles (Westchester) CA, and Houston (Westbury Christian) TX will make up the National Division, while Cedar Hill (H.S.) TX, Houston (Jones) TX, Houston (Nimitz) TX, Cleveland (Heritage Christian) TX, Port Arthur (Memorial) TX, Houston (Aldine) TX, Houston (Strake Jesuit) TX, and Houston (Westfield) TX make up what appears to be an extremely loaded Texas field.

After three days of intense competition at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO, 16 players were selected from a group of 31 to go to the USA Basketball Junior World Championship Qualifying Team Training Camp at the Miami Heat Practice Facility in Miami, FL, July 14th-22nd.  From this group, which includes 6'9 Jr Mohamed Abukar from San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) CA, 6'7 Carmelo Anthony from Mouth of Wilson (Oak Hill) VA, 6'10 Chris Bosh from Dallas (Lincoln) TX, 5'10 Jr Aaron Brooks from Seattle (Franklin) WA, 6'0 Dee Brown from Maywood (Proviso East) IL, 6'8 Brad Buckman from Austin (Westlake) TX, 6'7 Derrick Byars from Memphis (Ridgeway) TN, Syracuse's Matt Gorman, 6'4 Jr Dion Harris from Detroit (Redford) MI, 6'3 Daniel Horton from Cedar Hill (H.S.) TX, 6'8 Jr Kris Humphries from Minnetonka (Hopkins) MN, 6'7 Andre Iguodala from Springfield (Lanphier) IL, 6'10 Jr David Padgett from Reno (H.S.) WA, 6'1 Johnny Gilchrist from Virginia Beach (Salem) VA, 6'5 Jr Tim Morris from Smyrna (Whitfield) GA, 6'3 Bracey Wright from The Colony (H.S.) CA, 6'10 Soph Brian Johnson from Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) VA, and 6'11 Jr Darryl Watkins from Paterson (Catholic) NJ.
