RANKING OF THE TOP PLAYERS IN THE 2005 CITY OF PALMS CLASSIC IN FT. MYERS, FL
Rankings are Based Primarily on Performance

1.    Brandan Wright, 6'9, Sr, PF, Brentwood (Academy) TN - finished 4th in the tournament in scoring with 29.0 ppg and 1st in blocked shots with 5.0 apg, as he led his team the championship against Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA...needs to get bigger and stronger and become more aggressive on the boards, but is one of the best scoring big men we've ever seen from 15-feet and in at the high school level...more than lived to his top five ranking nationally and is a great catch for North Carolina.
28 points, 10 rebounds, 10 blocks, 12-13 field goals, 3-11 free throws, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 1 steal versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
32 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 12-15 field goals, 0-0 3-pointers, 8-11 free throws, 4 assists, 3 turnovers, 1 steal versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
25 points, 5 rebounds, 6 blocks, 8-15 field goals, 9-17 free throws, 5 rebounds versus Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
31 points, 6 rebounds, 1 blocks, 12-23 field goals, 7-8 free throws, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 1 steal versus Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
2.    Wayne Ellington, 6'4, Sr, 2G, Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA - was one of the best 3-pointer shooters in the tournament, but it didn't fall late in the championship game and, as a result, his team came up just a little bit short at the end.  Still, he finished ranked 6th in the tournament in scoring with 27.0 ppg and 8th in rebounding with 9.0 rpg and was a model for consistency throughout the entire tournament...also bound for North Carolina and ranked right up there among our top five seniors nationally with Brandan Wright from Brentwood (Academy) TN.
23 points,
13 rebounds, 10-17 field goals, 2-6 3-pointers versus Cape Coral (H.S.) FL
30 points, 7 rebounds, 9-16 field goals, 1-4 3-pointers, 11-15 free throws, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steal versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
26 points, 6 rebounds, 10-17 field goals, 4-8 3-pointers against Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
29 points,
10 rebounds, 11-21 field goals, 2-7 3-pointers, 5-6 free throws, 4 assists, 4 turnovers, 1 block, 2 steals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
3.    Gerald Henderson, 6'5, Sr, WF, Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA was the best athlete in the entire tournament, but was not the great outside shooter that he needed to be in the championship game.  Still, he finished ranked 8th in the tournament in scoring with 23.8 ppg and 10th in the tournament in rebounding with 7.8 rpg...like his teammate Wayne Ellington, is a future McDonald's All-American and just as good a kid as he is a basketball player.  However, unlike Ellington, he is bound for Duke, instead of North Carolina.
26 points, 8 rebounds, 11-18 field goals, 5 assists, 3 blocks, 4 steals versus Cape Coral (H.S.) FL
22 points,
12 rebounds, 8-15 field goals, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 1 blocks versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
20 points, 3 rebounds, 7-10 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 5-5 free throws, 1 block versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
27 points, 8 rebounds, 12-22 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers, 2-4 free throws, 1 assists, 3 turnovers, a steal versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
4.    Kevin Love, 6'9, Jr, C, Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR - put on what will be remembered as one of the all time great performances in tournament history in the first game, but great defensive efforts and his teammates' inability to get him the ball in the low post in the second and third games prevented repeat performances.  Still, made a strong case for being the #2-ranked junior in America ahead of 6'8 Jr Michael Beasley from Mouth of Wilson (Oak Hill) VA and 6'6 Jr Billy Walker from Cincinnati (North College Hill) OH and has the best outlet pass that we've seen since Wes Unseld.
27 points, 27 rebounds, 7-14 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers, 12-14 free throws, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 3 blocks, 1 steal versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
26 points, 10 rebounds, 9-18 field goals, 1-4 3-pointers, 7-10 free throws, 3 assists, 1 turnover versus Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
11 points, 6 rebounds, 3-10 field goals, 0-2 3-pointers, 5-8 free throws, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 3 blocks, 2 steals versus Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
5.    Nick Calathes, 6'5, Jr, 2G, Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL - gets ranked as the #1 junior in the state and a top five player in the tourney by the HOOP SCOOP the hard way (he earned it with four excellent performances, including a 50-point outburst, which now ranks him with the third high scoring performance in the history of the tournament)...tough hardnosed kid and a great ball handler and passer and shooter, but needs to work on his defense in order to have the complete package.  Already verbally committed to Florida.
28 points, 8 rebounds, 8-18 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers, 12-14 free throws, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, 3 steals versus Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
19 points, 2 rebounds, 5-14 field goals, 2-7 3-pointers, 9 assists, 7 turnovers, 2 steals against Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
50 points, 3 rebounds, 18-24 field goals,  4-7 3-pointers, 10-14 free throws, 7 assists, 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, 5 steals against Compton (Dominguez) CA
31 points, 11 rebounds, 12-18 field goals, 0-2 3-pointers, 7-8 free throws, 8 assists, 5 turnovers, 6 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn)
6.    Patrick Christopher, 6'5, Sr, 2G, Compton (Dominguez) CA - 3-point shooting is his forte, but this big time athlete who is bound for the University of California has become more of a complete player now that he has transferred from Lakewood (Mayfair) CA to Compton (Dominguez) CA...also is more consistent and his shot selection is a lot better, which explains why he was one of the leading 3-point shooters in the tournament.
15 points, 5 rebounds, 7-8 field goals, 0-0 3-pointers versus Bradenton (Pendleton School) FL
12 points, 4 rebounds, 5-8 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers, 2 assists, 1 steal versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS
22 points, 6 rebounds, 8-15 field goals,
5-8 3-pointers, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
30 points, 16 rebounds, 11-9 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 7-10 free throw, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 1 block, 4 steals versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
15 points, 4 rebounds, 5-8 field goals, 0-2 3-pointers, 5-7 free throws versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
7.    Tony Davis, 6'7, Sr, PF, Sarasota (Riverview) FL - finished ranked 5th in scoring with 28.2 ppg and 3rd in rebounding with 13.4 rpg  and was one rebound away from having a double-double in every game of the tournament...his best days are still ahead of him, especially if he grows two or three more inches (just turned 17-years-old)...is a steal of Central Florida, but it would be a shame it they attempt to make him into a wing forward.  In other words, we think he's best suited to be a four who can step out.
37 points, 21 rebounds, 11-23 field goals, 1-4 3-pointers, 14-21 free throws, 3 assists, 8 turnovers, 3 blocks versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
27 points, 10 rebounds, 10-18 field goals, 0-4 3-pointers, 7-9 free throws, 3 turnover, 2 blocks, 3 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
31 points, 12 rebounds, 13-22 field goals, 1-4 3-pointers, 1 assist, 4 turnovers versus Cape Coral (H.S.) FL
18 points, 9 rebounds, 7-18 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 1 assist, 4 turnovers, 2 blocks, 2 steals versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
19 points, 11 rebounds, 8-19 field goals, 2-6 3-pointers, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 2 blocks, 5 steals versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
8.    Brandon Jennings, 6'1, Soph, PG, Compton (Dominguez) CA - led the tournament in steals with 4.6 spg, was 4th in assists with 4.4 apg, and was 15th in scoring 16.4 ppg, but still did not live up to the expectations of being the #1-ranked sophomore in America.  Still, he's got incredible speed and quickness, can beat you with his ability to get to the basket, outside shooting, and uncanny ability to find the open man...also a`great kid, which means he has the potential to become a great one both on and off the court.
10 points, 5-12 field goals, 8 assists, 5 steals versus Bradenton (Pendleton School) FL
20 points, 8-18 field goals, 2-6 3-pointers, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 turnovers,
8 steals, versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS
9 points, 4-16 field goals, 4 rebounds,
7 assists, 3 turnovers, 1 block, and 5 steals versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
19 points, 4 rebounds, 9-16 field goals, 0-1 3-pointers, 2 assists, 5 turnovers, 2 steals versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
24 points, 8 rebounds, 6-11 field goals, 1-4 3-pointers, 11-12 free throws, 3 assists, 3 turnovers, 1 block, 3 steals versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
9.    Demond Carter, 5'10, Sr, PG, LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA - never saw a shot he didn't like, but also did a better job of getting his teammates involved than he did a year ago in this tournament.  Thus, explains why his team won the Consolation Championship...finished tied with 6'5 Jr Nick Calathes from Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL as the leading scorer in the tournament with 32.0 ppg...also finished ranked 3rd in assists with 4.8 apg, 2nd in steals with 4.3 spg, and 1st in free throw percentage with 90.3% (28-31 free throws).
28 points, 7-23 field goals, 4-13 3-pointers, 10-11 frees throws, 4 assists, 3 turnovers, 3 steals versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
27 points, 11-24 field goals, 3-10 3-pointers, 2-3 free throws, 2 assists, 6 turnovers, 4 steals versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS
41 points, 4 rebounds, 10-23 field goals, 7-17 3-pointers, 14-14 free throws, 8 assists, 2 turnovers, 5 steals versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
32 points, 4 rebounds, 13-28 field goals, 4-14 3-pointers, 5 assists, 4 turnovers, steals versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
10.    Lance Stephenson, 6'5, Frosh, 2G, Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY - already one of the best players in New York City, Stephenson more than lived up to his ranking as the second best freshman in America in this tournament...not only edged out Jennings for a spot on the all-tournament team with terrific performance in his final game of the tournament, but was ranked among the top 20 players in both scoring with 18.5 ppg and rebounding with 6.5 rpg.  However, it was his field goal percentage, which ranked 3rd in the tournament at 59.3%, that should really get everybody's attention.
14 points, 5 rebounds, 6-10 field goals, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steal versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
21 points, 5 rebounds, 9-17 field goals, 1-4 3-pointers, 0 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 block, 3 steals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
15 points, 5 rebounds, 7-11 field goals, 0-1 3-pointers, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 2 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
24 points, 11 rebounds, 10-16 field goals, 1-1 3-pointers, 3 assists, 2 turnovers versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
11.    Reed Baker, 6'1, Sr, PG, Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL - consistency counts and this guy came up big in both of his games, as he finishes as one of the leading scorers and 3-point shooters in the tournament...also is a tremendous competitor, overachiever, and an excellent catch for The Citadel...definitely would have made the all-tournament team again this year, if he hadn't been injured and had played in his team's final game of the tournament.
31 points, 7 rebounds, 10-22 field goals, 4-10 3-pointers, 7-9 free throws, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 2 steals versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
32 points, 3 rebounds, 12-25 field goals, 6-13 3-pointers, 1 assist, 5 turnovers, 3 steals versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
12.    Lance Kearse, 6'6, Jr, WF, Ft. Myers (H.S.) FL - South Florida was the only school showing serious interest, but that should change, as he's arguably the biggest sleeper to emerge in the entire tournament.  Has big time athleticism, lots of energy and bounce, and is versatile enough and skilled enough to project as a high major wing forward.  The fact that he's a great kid, an excellent student, and is still just a junior are added bonuses!  Will rank in the 50-100 nationally next time we update our rankings for the Class of 2007.
23 points, 5 rebounds, 7-12 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 8-9 free throws, 4 assists, five steals, 2 turnovers versus Lakeland (Kathleen) FL
13.    Joshua Bone, 6'2, Sr, 2G, Brentwood (Academy) TN this unsung hero on the championship team finished tied for #10 in the tournament in scoring with 19.3 ppg and provided the perfect complement out on the perimeter to 6'10 Brandan Wright, who was almost unstoppable inside....also was one of the best 3-point shooters in the tournament and is an absolute steal for Southern Illinois.
18 points, 5 rebounds, 6-15 field goals, 2-7 3-pointers versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
22 points, 7 rebounds, 8-12 field goals, 5-8 3-pointers, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steal versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
18 points, 6 rebounds, 5-12 field goals, 2-9 3-pointers, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 5 steals versus Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
19 points, 7 rebounds, 5-11 field goals, 3-6 3-pointers, 6-6 free throws, 1 assists, 1 turnovers, 1 steal versus Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
14.    Eneil Polynice, 6'5, Sr, WF, Sarasota (Booker) FL - is the other big sleeper to emerge in the tournament...is a high energy guy who gets it done more on feel and instinct than skills and understanding of the game.  And that's saying a lot when one looks at his stats...versatile enough at this level to play both inside and outside, although he projects as wing player at the next level.
19 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 7-11 field goals, 3-4 3-pointers, 4 turnovers, 1 blocks, 3 steals against Hollywood (Chaminade) FL
15.    Corey Fisher, 6'1, Jr, PG, Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ - not only was the most consistent player on his team, but was the forgotten man on the all-tournament team (instead, his teammate 6'7 Yves Mekomgo Mbala was named to the 12-man team)...did not shoot the outside shoot well in this tournament, but has big time athleticism, incredible moves to the basket, and helped spark his team's unsuccessful comeback in the semi-finals.
15 points, 4 rebounds, 6-14 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 3 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
19 points, 4 rebounds, 8-18 field goals, 2-6 3-pointers, 6 turnovers, 3 steals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
11 points, 6 rebounds, 5-12 field goals, 1-7 3-pointers, 6 assists, 1 turnover versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
16.   Damion James, 6'9, Sr,  WF, Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX - his statistics look great, as he was the 7th leading scorer with 24.8 ppg and the leading rebounder with 14.8 rpg in the tournament.  But these numbers are misleading, as he was one of the top guns in the tournament and, in the process, forgot to make his teammates involved...also spend too much time out on the perimeter handling the ball, instead of his great combination of strength and athleticism to dominate inside.
27 points, 9 rebounds, 8-17 field goals,
4-9 3-pointers, 1 assists, 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, 2 steals versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
31 points, 11 rebounds, 11-29 field goals, 4-8 3-pointers, 2 assists, 1 turnover, 4 blocks, and 2 steals
17 points,
17 rebounds, 7-18 field goals, 0-4 3-pointers, 3-9 free throws, 0 assists, 2 turnovers, 4 blocks versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
12 points, 13 rebounds, 3-17 field goals, 2-8 3-pointers, 4-4 free throws, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 1 block, 1 steal versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
17.    Marshall Moses, 6'6, Jr, PF, Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC - has had more success making the transition to wing forward than Eric Wallace, but still is best inside, where can can take advantage of his long arms, big time athleticism, excellent timing, and ability to score, rebound, and dominate around the basket.
12 points, 8 rebounds, 5-10 field goals versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
25 points, 6 rebounds, 9-15 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 6-8 free throws, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 1 block, 1 steal versus Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
16 points, 8 rebounds, 5-11 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers, 2 assists, 7 turnovers, 2 blocks versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
24 points, 2 rebounds, 11-15 field goals, 0-1 3-pointers, 2 turnovers versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
18.    Gary Clark, 6'4, Sr, 2G, Sarasota (Booker) FL - easily won the much anticipated head-to-head battle for the #2-ranking in the junior class in the state over Edwin Rios.  However, even more important, he impressed us with athleticism and ability to both finish and shoot the outside shot.  Is already verbally committed to Florida.
18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 7-16 field goals, 2-6 3-pointers, 4 assists, 4 turnovers, 3 steals against Hollywood (Chaminade) FL
19.    Quinton Watkins, 6'4, Jr,  2G, Compton (Dominguez) CA - finished tied at #2 in the tournament in 3-point shooting by knocking down 11-22 treys, but also was one of the more inconsistent players in the tournament and needs to improve his defense in order to get ranked among the top 100 players nationally in his class.  However, he does have the size, athleticism, outside shooting, and potential to someday be mentioned among the better players in the class.
19 points, 7 steals, 7-9 field goals, 5 rebounds, versus Bradenton (Pendleton School) FL
5 points, 3 rebounds, 2-6 field goals, 2 steals versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS
10 points, 6 rebounds, 4-8 field goals, 2-5 3-pointers, 2 steals versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
22 points, 4 rebounds, 8-12 field goals, 5-8 3-pointers, 1 assist, 2 turnovers against Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
10 points, 3 rebounds, 3-7 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 1 steal versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
20.    Yves Mekomgo Mbala, 6'7, Sr PF, Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ - put up big numbers in his first game of the tournament, but sacrificed his offensive out-put and was largely responsible for doing a great defensive job on 6'10 Brandan Wright from Brentwood (Academy) TN in the semi-finals and 6'9 Jr Kevin Love from Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR in the Third Place Game...is a steal of La Salle and has top 100 potential in the senior class nationally.
27 points, 12 rebounds, 10-15 field goals, 3-3 3pointers, 4 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
14 points, 9 rebounds, 6-17 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers, 1-4 free throws, 3 turnovers, 1 block, 1 steal versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
6 points, 8 rebounds, 3-7 field goals, 2 blocks, 1 steal versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
21.    Miguel Paul, 6'0, Soph, PG, Lakeland (Kathleen) FL - needs strength, but knows how to run a team, is an excellent ball handler and passer, has a knack for being in the right place at the right time, and has deceptive speed and quickness.   Already getting high major looks.  As a matter of fact, the University of Florida was in the house to watch him play.
19 points, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, 6 steals, 5-9 field goals, 0-4 3-pointers, 9-12 free throws versus Ft. Myers (H.S.) FL
22.    Zach Bailey, 6'0, Soph, 2G, Hollywood (Chaminade) FL - stole the show with his outside shooting when everybody had come to see the big match-up between 6'4 Jr Gary Clark from Sarasota (Booker) FL and 6'0 Jr Edwin Rios from Hollywood (Chaminade) FL...the fact he's a big time athlete, good defender, and always seems to shoot well will get him some big time looks.  But he needs to grow or develop better point guard skill in order to realize that dream.
25 points, 2 rebounds, 9-15 field goals, 3-5 3-pointers versus Sarasota (Booker) FL
23.    Brent Wood, 6'4, Jr, 2G, Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL wins our stock market award as the most up and down player in the tournament - if he does anything at all against Lake Wales (H.S.) FL, his team would have won that game.  Still, Wood has nice size at 6'4, another year to mature, and was one of the best 3-point shooters in the tournament.
27 points, 6 rebounds, 9-17 field goals, 7-14 3-pointers versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
3 points, 3 rebounds, 1-8 field goals, 1-7 3-pointers, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, and 1 steal versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
27 points 3 rebounds, 10-18 field goals, 7-13 3-pointers, 2 assists, 4 turnovers versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS
24.    Joey Rodriquez, 5'11, Jr, PG, Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL - love the way this guy penetrates, dishes, and creates in transition, but laid an egg when they needed him the most against Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA in the quarterfinals...needs to learn how to play better defense and shoot it better.  However, it may not matter, because, if what you see is you get, he'll be terrific at the mid-major level.
15 points,
7 assists, 2 turnovers, 3 steals, 7-11 field goals versus Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
4 points,  3 assists, 5 turnovers, 2 steals, 2-6 field goals versus Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
19 points,
8 assists, 4 turnovers, 2 steals, 7-12 field goals, 1-3 3-poineters versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
13 points,
9 assists, 5 turnovers, 2 steals, 4-10 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers against Kernersville (Robert Glenn) FL
25.    Kevin Menner, 6'5, Sr, PF, Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY - is a tough hardnosed competitor who does most of the dirty work and provides the perfect complement inside to 6'9 Jr Brandon Walters.  However, he's not big enough to play inside at the next level and he doesn't shoot it or handle it well enough to play out on the perimeter, so he projects as a "tweener."
17 points, 2 rebounds, 8-12 field goals, 2 steals versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
5 points, 6 rebounds, 2-13 field goals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
19 points, 8 rebounds, 8-16 field goals, 2 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
21 points, 7 rebounds, 7-10 field goals, 1 assist, 2 turnovers versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
26.    Ruben Guillandeaux, 6'5, Sr 2G, Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ - really like his versatility, athleticism, and ability to light up a scoreboard, but failed to live up to expectations when the going got tougher against Brentwood (Academy) TN and Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR...and,  if he wants to live up to his potential, that's big the key, as he needs to get meaner and tougher and become more consistent.
20 points, 3 rebounds, 7-8 field goals, 3-3 3-pointers, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 1 steal versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
4 points, 4 rebounds, 1-9 3 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 steals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
13 points, 1 rebound, 4-7 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 2 assists, 2 steals versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
27.    Chandler Parsons, 6'8, Jr, WF, Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL - the thing that he does best is shoot the basketball, which makes him somewhat of an enigma, as he's neither quick enough to defend a wing forward out on the perimeter nor big and strong enough to match-up against anybody inside at a higher level.  Still, time is on his side, as Parsons is just a junior and is expected to grow some more.
15 points, 8 rebounds, 6-14 field goals versus Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
28 points, 7 rebounds, 11-16 field goals,
6-8 3-pointers, 5 steals versus Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
9 points, 4 rebounds, 4-11 field goals, 1-5 3-pointers, 3 turnovers versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
22 points, 6 rebounds, 9-14 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
28.    Eric Wallace, 6'6, Jr, WF, Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC - tremendous physical specimen and world class athlete, but best moments in the tournament came when he won the Slam Dunk contest...is best when he's driving the basket or taking care of business inside, but is attempting to become a wing player, because that's where he'll project at a higher level.  However, so far this experiment has not been successful.
14 points, 6 rebounds, 5-14 field goals, 1-3 3-pointers, 6 turnovers, 4 blocks, 2 steals versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
14 points, 5 rebounds, 4-12 field goals, 0-5 3-pointers, 3 turnovers, 1 steal versus Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
15 points, 13 rebounds, 6-16 field goals, 3-8 3-pointers, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 2 steals versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
9 points, 3 rebounds, 4-9 field goals, 0-4 3-pointers, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, 3 steals versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
29.    Eloy Vargas, 6'9, Soph, C, Hollywood (Chaminade) FL - is long, lean, and athletic, but gets this ranking more based on his potential and the fact that he had 17 rebounds in his only game of the tournament...needs to play harder and is not a killer inside, so the fact that those who have previously seen him play tell us he's an excellent 3-point shooter and projects a perimeter player doesn't come as much of a surprise.
11 points, 17 rebounds, 4-13 field goals, 2 blocks, 3 steals versus Sarasota (Booker) FL
30.    Dominique Jones, 6'3, Jr, 2G, Lake Wales (H.S) FL - best player and jack-of-a-trades (rebounds well for size, gets to the basket, has a good-mid-range game, shoot the three, and finds ways to score) on a well-balanced team.
24 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, 9-16 field goals, 0-2 3-pointers, 6-6 free throws versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
11 points, 5 rebounds, 3-6 field goals, 2-2 3-pointers, 2 assists, 7 turnovers, 3 steals versus Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
11 points, 7 rebounds, 2-8 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers, 7-8 free throws, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
12 points, 5 rebounds, 4-9 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, 5 steals versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
31.    Darryl Arnold, 6'5, Jr, WF, Piney Woods (H.S.) MS this long rangy athlete rebounds well for size, has a great nose for the ball, and is good at getting his shot from mid-range and in.  However, needs to extend his shooting range and perimeter skills in order to attract higher than mid-major interest at the next level.
14 points, 8 rebounds, 6-7 field goals, 2 steals versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
11 points, 12 rebounds, 5-8 field goals, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 2 blocks, 2 steals versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
13 points, 9 rebounds, 6-10 field goals, 4 steals for Ft. Myers (Bishop verot) FL
32.    Darren Dexter, 6'5, Sr, 2G, Sarasota (Riverview) FL - Miami Dade (JC) FL was at all his games and appears to be making him a recruiting priority, so it's our guess that he's prime junior college material...also is versatile and athletic enough to play both inside and outside, but needs to improve consistency and 3-shooting.
11 points, 11 rebounds, 4-16 field goals, 1-7 3-pointers, 2-7 free throws, 2 assists versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
14 points, 12 rebounds, 6-14 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 5 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
17 points, 4 rebounds, 8-13 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 2 steals versus Cape Coral (H.S.) FL
11 points, 8 rebounds, 4-14 field goals, 2-8 3-pointers, 3 steals versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
14 points, 6 rebounds, 7-15 field goals, 0-2 3-pointers, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 steals versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
33.    Jerrell Wilson, 6'2, Sr, PF, Lake Wales (H.S.) FL is an undersized power forward all the way, but was our favorite player on his team, because he's a terrific athlete, an excellent rebounder and a force to be reckoned with around he basket.  However, he's probably best suited to play football at the next level.
4 points, 4 rebounds, 2-8 field goals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
16 points, 7 rebounds, 8-10 field goals, steals versus Ft Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
11 points, 11 rebounds, 5-12 field goals, 5 turnovers against LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
15 points, 6 rebounds, 7-8 3-pointers, 1-4 free throws, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 1 steal versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
34.    Mike Yocum, 6'9, Sr, C, Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA - didn't put up prolific numbers, except in the second game.  But didn't back down when he faced two of the top four players in the tournament in 6'10 Brandan Wright from Brentwood (Academy) TN and 6'9 Jr Kevin Love from Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR on consecutive nights...stronger and tougher than he looks and, as a result, is a great complement to 6'4 Wayne Ellington and 6'5 Gerald Henderson on Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA and is a great catch for Albany.
4 points, 10 rebounds, 2-5 field goals versus Cape Coral (H.S.) FL
18 points, 7 rebounds, 6-6 field goals, 6-6 free throws, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal versus Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
6 points, 4 rebounds, 3-6 field goals, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 1 block versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
10 points, 4 rebounds, 5-9 field goals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
35.    Kevin Branch, 6'5, Jr, 2G, LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA - started off slow, but ended up playing the best that we've seen him play since his freshman days when his high school team beat two nationally ranked teams at Slam Dunk to the Beach...and, if the light continues to stay on, Branch has the size, athleticism, ability to get to the basket, and the outside shooting to project as a high major player.
14 points, 4 rebounds, 7-15 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers, 3 steals, 2 assists, 2 turnovers versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
7 points, 5 rebounds, 2-9 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, 1 steal versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS

15 points, 9 rebounds, 6-12 field goals, 3-6 3-pointers, 4 assists, 3 steals versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
36.    Brandan Brown, 6'6, Jr, 2G, Brentwood (Academy) TN - is versatile enough to play both inside and outside and is like a jack-of-all-trades, as he was another one of the unsung heroes on the championship team...will be most remembered for making the big 3-pointer that gave his team its first lead late in the title game.
13 points, 8 rebounds, 3-4 field goals, 2-3 3-pointers, 5-5 free throws versus Lake Wales (H.S.) FL
14 points, 4 rebounds, 4-9 field goals, 3-7 3 pointers versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
6 points, 12 rebounds, 1-6 field goals, 5 turnovers, 2 steals versus Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ
8 points, 3 rebounds, 2-4 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 1 assist, 3 turnover, 1 steal versus Merion Station (Episcopal Academy) PA
37.   Nick Leon, 5'10, PG, Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY - is a scoring point guard who puts up prolific numbers, but doesn't always make his teammates better.  And this might be at least one of the reasons why his team finished 2-2 and was one of the more disappointing teams in the tournament.  Still, has the speed, quickness, athleticism, and natural talent necessary to draw low Division I interest.
14 points, 5-14 field goals, 3-8 3-pointers, 3 assists, 0 turnovers, 1 steal versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
18 points, 7-15 field goals, 4-11 3-pointers, 1 assist, 1 turnovers, 1 steal versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
12 points, 6 rebounds, 4-14 field goals, 4-10 3-pointers, 3 steals versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
13 points, 5-11 field goals, 1-5 3-pointers, 1 assist, 2 steals versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
38.    Kevin Foster, 6'7, Soph, C, Lakeland (Kathleen) FL - isn't flashy, but quickly gets it done inside, as is evident by the double-double and high field goal percentage.  Would be ranked higher, but the level of competition that he played against in this tournament was suspect.   And we only got to see him once.  Still, worth keeping an eye on just in case....only a sophomore.
17 points, 10 rebounds, 7-9 field goals versus Ft. Myers (H.S.) FL
39.    A.J. Tolbert, 6'6, Sr, PF, Compton (Dominguez) CA - played well early in the tournament, but never seemed to recover after he faced 6'9 Kevin Love from Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR in the quarterfinals.
13 points, 8 rebounds, 4-7 field goals versus Bradenton (Pendleton School) FL
8 points, 8 rebounds, 3-10 field goals versus Piney Woods (H.S.) MS
11 points, 2 rebounds, 5-11 field goals versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
6 points, 3 rebounds, 3-5 field goals, 2 steals against Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL
6 points, 1 rebound, 3-7 field goals, 5 fouls, 1 assist, 1 turnover versus Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY
40.    J.D. Woods, 6'2, Soph, 2G, Naples (Golden Gate) FL - is a 2-guard all the way, but impressed with his athleticism, outside shooting, and ability to make things happen.  And time is on his side, as he's only a sophomore.
25 points, 9-18 field goals, 2-5 3-pointers, 6 steals, 2 assists, 6 turnovers versus Punta Gorda (Charlotte) FL
41.    Jeff Robinson, 6'6, Jr, PG, Elizabeth (St. Patrick) NJ - consistency counts, so how can we rank a guy who averaged 4.5 ppg and 1.0 rpg and did next to nothing in his first two games any higher, despite the fact that he was the catalyst and provided the necessary energy for his team to win the 3rd Place Game?...has incredible natural talent and athleticism, but still has a long way to go to develop a good understanding of the game.
4 points, 1 rebound, 2-5 field goals, 1 assist, 1 blocks versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
5 points, 1 rebound, 2-5 field goals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
18 points, 2 rebounds, 9-12 field goals, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 2 blocks, 2 steals versus Lake Oswego (H.S.) OR
42.    Chris Irvin, 6'0, Sr, PG, Port Charlotte (H.S.) FL - is a scoring point guard who is an excellent sleeper for the mid-major level, as he combines strength, athleticism, and the ability to put up prolific numbers.
25 points, 5 rebounds, 10-20 field goals, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 steals versus Clermont (East Ridge) FL
43.    James Tyler, 7'1, Soph, C, Brandeton (Pendleton School) FL - is an incredible physical specimen and got better as the tournament went along, but does 20 rebounds against the Little Sister's of the poor really mean anything?
8 points, 5 rebounds, 3-4 field goals versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
12 points, 8 rebounds, 4-6 field goals, 4-4 free throws versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
14 points, 20 rebounds, 4-15 field goals, 4 turnovers, 7 blocks, 4 steals versus Cape Coral (H.S.) FL
44.    John Mesadiou, 6'6, Sr, PF, Naples (Golden Gate) FL - needs strength, but is active around the basket, as he scores inside and gets more than his share of rebounds.
19 points, 8-12 field goals, 8 rebounds versus Punta Gorda (Charlotte) FL
45.    Jerel Blocker, 6'2, Jr, 2G, Lake Wales (H.S) FL - more of a slasher than a shooter, but may have to change our mind about that after the way he came up big in his final game...good defender and excellent athleticism make him intriguing for the lower Division I level.
6 points, 3 rebounds, 3-12 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
11 points, 2 rebounds, 5-9 field goals, 0-3 3-pointers versus Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
16 points, 4 rebounds, 6-13 field goals, 2-8 3-pointers versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
22 points, 4 rebounds, 9-12 field goals, 3-4 3-pointers, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steals versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
46.    Allen Aragbaye, 6'3, Jr,  PG, Piney Woods (H.S.) MS - not a pure point guard, but doesn't shoot it well enough to project as a wing guard at the next level.  Still, we like his natural talent, athleticism, and ability to get to the hole.
10 points, 4 rebounds, 1-4 field goals, 1-5 3-pointers, 8 turnovers versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
10 points, 4 rebounds, 2-13 field goals, 2-8 3-pointers, 3 assists, 2 turnovers versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
7 points, 2 rebounds, 2-6 field goals, 2-5 3-pointers, 6 assists, 4 turnovers, 4 steals versus Ft. Myers (Bishop verot) FL
47.    Devon Peterson, 6'3, Jr, 2G, Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY - had one big scoring game against Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC, but finished ranked 6th in the tournament in assists and was one of the best role players in the tournament.
0 points, 4 rebounds, 0-5 field goals, 5 assists, 4 turnovers, 3 steals versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
10 points, 5 rebounds, 5-8 field goals 1 assist, 1 turnovers, 2 steals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
28 points, 6 rebounds, 9-16 field goals, 6-9 3-pointers, 4-4 free throws, 6 assists, 3 turnovers versus Kernersville (Robert Glenn) NC
7 points, 3 rebounds, 3-9 field goals, 1-2 3-pointers, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steal versus Compton (Dominguez) CA
48.    Corey Godzinski, 6'9, Sr, C, Clermont (East Ridge) FL - long armed shot blocker has excellent offensive skills, but isn't quick enough to guard anybody out on the perimeter and is too fragile to get it done anytime soon at a very high level.  So Wofford should be a perfect fit.
22 points, only 1 rebound, 4 blocks, 7-13 field goals, 3-8 3-pointers versus Port Charlotte (H.S.) FL
49.   Anthony Johnson, 6'8, Sr C, Lake Wales (H.S) FL - passes the look test, but doesn't get enough done.  But, like they say, you can't teach size and he is productive around the basket.
6 points, 5 rebounds, 3-12 field goals versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
12 points, 7 rebounds, 3-10 field goals, 1 assist, 5 turnovers, 2 blocks, 2 steals versus Ft. Myers (Bishop Verot) FL
15 points, 7 rebounds, 6-7 field goals, 3-4 free throws, 2 blocks versus LaPlace (Reserve Christian) LA
8 points, 6 rebounds, 4-9 field goals, 2 assists, 1 turnover, 1 block, 1 steal versus Sarasota (Riverview) FL
50.   Brandon Walters, 6'9, Jr, C, Brooklyn (Lincoln) NY - is ranked #38 nationally in the junior class and has long arms, great timing, is an excellent defender, and has an incredible amount of potential.  However, he did not play well the last three games in the tournament and, as a result, is lucky he even made the list.
14 points, 8 rebounds, 7-8 field goals, 3 blocks versus Nacogdoches (H.S.) TX
6 points, 8 rebounds, 2-4 field goals, 4 fouls, 1 block versus Brentwood (Academy) TN
